The Foundations for a Free and Prosperous Society
PROPERTY RIGHTS.
Property rights begin with self-ownership. Every person has the right to the fruits of their labor, to peacefully acquire, use, and exchange what they own without fear of arbitrary seizure or political interference. Secure property rights foster responsibility, voluntary cooperation, investment, and prosperity—but their true value is deeper: they protect human dignity and individual liberty. A free society cannot exist where ownership depends on the permission of those in power. Defending property rights is ultimately about defending the freedom of every individual to build, create, and leave a legacy.
INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM.
Individual freedom begins with the recognition that every person has the right to direct his or her own life. Every person has the inherent right to pursue their own purpose and peacefully make decisions free from coercion. No government, institution, or central authority can possess the knowledge, creativity, or aspirations found in millions of free individuals acting according to their own judgment. Freedom is not granted by those in power—it is our natural condition. The rights to think, speak, work, worship, associate, and create belong to every person by virtue of their humanity. A flourishing society is built not by controlling individuals, but by trusting them to pursue their own lives with responsibility and dignity.
LIMITED GOVERNMENT.
Limited government exists to secure liberty—not to direct society. Because individuals possess natural rights, political power must remain restrained, accountable, and subject to the rule of law. The proper role of government is to protect life, liberty, and property while allowing free people to pursue their own goals through voluntary cooperation. History repeatedly shows that concentrated power limits opportunity, while freedom unleashes innovation, prosperity, and human flourishing. A free society is one in which government remains the servant of the people, never their master.
